Job Title: Health & Safety Officer (Part-Time)

Location: Glasgow

Hours: Part-Time (3 days per week)

About the Company: Our client is a revolutionary business at the forefront of utilising AI, automation, and robotic applications to design and develop new molecules for chemicals and materials. Due to considerable growth, they are seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Officer to join their dynamic team on a part-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the Company's Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Policies effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits within high-risk environments, with a particular focus on COSHH and chemical safety.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on all H&S matters, promoting a culture of safety and wellbeing throughout the company.
  • Develop and deliver H&S training and awareness programmes to employees.
  • Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Liaise with external bodies, including HSE, local authorities, and other regulatory organisations.
  • Prepare and present H&S performance reports to senior management.
  • Maintain and update all H&S documentation to ensure accurate and current records.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Health & Safety Officer within a high-risk environment, ideally with experience in COSHH or chemical safety.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current H&S legislation, standards, and best practices.
  • NEBOSH qualification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Self-motivated, with excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
