We are working with a US based consumer product design & manufacturing company, who are expanding their brands with innovative and well made counter top kitchen and household products. With this drive for development, they are looking for a Senior Product Design Engineer to join their new Product Innovation Team, based in California.

The successful candidate will be either currently in country, be it California or other states with a view to relocate, or looking to return to the US, with the right to work already in place. Due to the current visa restrictions and timelines.  

Focused on new product creation, the Senior Product Design Engineer will support the Head of Product Innovation, driving front-end roadmap development in existing product categories as well as new. The role will sit in between Design and Engineering to create, prototype and test solutions that align with established insights/experience, marketing and brand teams. Concepts will be created then tested with consumers, prototyped and then validated in the US, with support from the R&D teams in China. When the product opportunity is well understood in terms of feasibility across design, engineering, culinary, marketing, brand, CI and legal we can then use the considerable resources of our China teams and suppliers to complete the detail design and manufacturing preparation.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:-

• At least a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, a BSc/MSc in Industrial Design Engineering is strongly preferred. 
• We are looking for 10+ years of experience in Consumer Products, designing and development of concepts for international markets. Which must include experience in motorised and heated products in categories such as: power tools, blenders, vacuum cleaners, air purifiers, ovens, air fryers, etc.
• Strong working knowledge of electrical and electronic controls.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing world-class, successful products from idea creation to proof-of-concept validation rigs, to the point of hand-over for detail design and manufacturing.

The company is offering a great salary c$140-150k and extensive benefits package. This role is based in the brand new modern offices in California. There is also some travel anticipated to China, where the R&D and Product Development teams are based.
