We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Planner/ Planning Manager to join a growing business providing Mechanical and Electrical services across the construction industry, including sectors such as Industrial, Logistics, Mining, Healthcare, Commercial, Hotel & Leisure, High-End Residential, Public, and Energy.

This company are a full building services solutions provider, successfully delivering multiple large-scale projects in Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe. This contractor has enjoyed some great success and has secured numerous projects and is now seeking support to aid with their ambitious expansion plans. The Role:
As a Senior Planner/ Planning Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining project planning controls and accurate reporting across multiple projects. This role is based in our Wolverhampton office.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create a master baseline schedule in Primavera P6 or Asta following company procedures, industry best practices, and client specifications.
  • Using schedule hierarchy, develop project delivery schedules and communicate them to the project team.
  • Create separate and integrated templates and model programmes for pre-construction, construction, and commissioning stages.
  • Develop detailed schedules covering design, procurement, installation, and close out phases.
  • Incorporate trade contractors’ schedules into the company schedule hierarchy.
  • Communicate scheduling and project controls matters to all project team members, including the company, the client, the design team, and trade contractors.
  • Manage progress reporting and integrate progress information into the company’s progress reports.
  • Create and monitor KPIs and produce weekly/monthly dashboards and reports.
  • Engage in the change management process to determine the impact of changes on the programme.
  • Create and manage the commissioning programme and develop related KPIs and reporting regimes.
  • Prepare time impact analyses to support extension of time claims and evaluate extension claims from trade contractors.
  • Mentor and provide training to junior staff.


To be successful as the next Senior Planner/ Planning Manager you'll have the relevant skills and experience along with the following qualifications:
Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Project is essential


Skills and experience:

  • ​At least 5 years’ experience working as an M&E Planner, ideally on high-end residential or commercial building services projects.
  • Experience in construction planning within Mechanical/Electrical Building Services contracting is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail with the ability to produce reports.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to converse easily with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and adhere to strict timeline schedules.
