We are seeking a Quarry Manager with strong organisational and management skills, technical knowledge of fixed and mobile plant, and a comprehensive understanding of sand & gravel quarrying operations. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual who can manage and organise an operational team, ensuring service and quality standards are met while maximising operational performance.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Oversee all aspects of sand & gravel quarrying operations, including budgetary controls, extraction, and restoration.
- Manage and organise the operational team to ensure efficient and safe work practices.
- Uphold engineering and statutory responsibilities with a thorough understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation.
- Maintain customer focus, ensuring service and quality standards are consistently met.
- Communicate effectively at all levels of the business and foster a team-oriented environment.
- Hold full QR99 Reg 8.1c responsibilities and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent awareness of current Health, Safety, and Environmental Legislation.
- Completed or working towards an NVQ Level 4 / QCF Level 5 in Health, Safety, and Environmental Management in Extractives or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of the Quarries Regulation 1999 and ACOP.
- Good understanding of plant and machinery, including maintenance and planning.
- NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Plant Operations and competency qualification for operating quarry plant, at least a loading shovel.
