Role Overview:

As the Financial Controller, you will be instrumental in overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions, playing a key role in the financial management of the company.  The successful candidate will be hands-on initially, utilising their expertise to streamline processes and contribute to the overall financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, Sage accounts entries, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Design and implement financial reports for effective decision-making.
• Coordinate with accountants and auditors to ensure compliance and accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee payroll processing.
• Conduct financial analysis, research, and present findings to directors.
• Drive efficiency improvements and cost savings initiatives.
• Manage contracts related to insurance, energy, phone, maintenance, etc.
• Review and report on prospective acquisition targets.
• Handle VAT/duty matters, including international transactions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
• Previous experience working in a similar-sized business, ideally with international exposure.
• Flexibility, strong organisational skills, and a high attention to detail.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative.
