Director of Sales (183lw) – Defence - remote (+ travel) - £100,000k- £120,000k + Uncapped Comms & Package

Our client has been successful in the cyber security market for over 25 years & has specialised in developing its solutions for defence & government.  They are seeking a collaborative Sales Director & experienced Business Developer, that has established ‘senior level’ customer contacts/networks at the highest level within Defence/Government, to lead and manage the Sales function & achieve annual Sales targets.

Responsibilities will include

Managing Sales team (x4), allocating territories, setting targets within the context of the Business Plan and budget, monitoring performance.

Define direct sales strategy, particularly with regards to defining key areas and markets, developing campaigns to achieve defined sales objectives.

Act as a Business Development resource and enhance presence with existing customer & partners.

Leverage own relationships and network to support the sales team as well as deliver own territory business development and sales.

Contribute to wider leadership, working as part of the leadership team to resolve issues and improve the overall performance.

Consolidate individual Territory forecasts into a weekly order forecast report.

Organise regular sales meetings, ensuring Sales staff are briefed and updated on activities and developments within the department and the Company.

Recruit, train and manage Sales and BD staff, ensuring that both their professional skills and knowledge of solutions are sufficiently detailed and current.

Attend a wide range of networking events to develop pan government/defence and industry relationships and promote client

Participate in exhibitions and conferences as needed, and to generate sales leads for client’s product and services.

Need to hold minimum of SC clearance or able to achieve this.

Experience required

Ability to understand and articulate the value and benefit of complex technical products.

Solution selling that enables a clear understand of the customer problem space and requirements.

Experienced in both business development and sales. Setting sales strategy and plans.

Commercial understanding & ability to work with and articulate different pricing models.

Track record of bringing a new product to market.

Currently operating at Leadership team level and experience of working in cross functional teams to achieve wider business goals.

Strong network in Defence, Secure Government and/or Law Enforcement sectors, enabling engagement with End customers, System Integrators and key influencers to build relationships where needed.

Experienced people manager able to motivate and performance manage strong personalities.

Self-aware and demonstrates high degree of emotional intelligence.

Ability to flex leadership style appropriately in response to different people and situations.

Excellent people, coaching and stakeholder management skills.

Gravitas and influencing skills including experience in presenting/ external speaker engagements.

Demonstrates both leadership and management qualities, using the right style at the right moment.
