General Manager - Power Stations

Are you an experienced Operations or General Manager from a power generation or renewable energy background in the process of looking for a new challenge that'll allow you to take a significant amount of responsibility for the running of a major power station?

This company have been established in the UK market for several decades now and have played a significant role in the development of such sites across the country by partnering with a number of high-profile clients and engineering firms. They cover a variety of Renewable Energy disciplines including Heat Pumps, Biomass and Solar, and their plants have multimillion pound valuations.

In this role you will be working as the power station owner's representative on site, overseeing a range of things such as operations & maintenance, site compliance, financial & commercial activities, site performance and stakeholder relationships.

The ideal candidate will come from a power generation background such as from an Energy-from-Waste, Biomass or CCGT power plant, and will have demonstrable experience in higher-level operations management or general management where they have held oversight of a variety of functions beyond just operations alone.

The role:
* Overseeing operations & maintenance work being carried out by internal staff and subcontractors
* Inputting into ongoing and future capital projects being delivered across site
* Inputting into commercial activities, budgeting and financial management
* Monitoring and reviewing plant performance and KPIs to ensure contractual obligations met
* Ensuring site activities are carried out in line with HSE regulations and internal policies
* Maintaining strong relations with key stakeholders including Ofgem, the Environment Agency etc.

The person:
* Previous experience in operations/general management
* Coming from a power generation background e.g Biomass, EFW, Coal-Fired, Gas-Fired plants
* Confident and carrying a strong presence, able to make necessary changes to improve the site
* Highly organised and capable of working in a fast-paced industrial environment
* Excellent interpersonal skills and capable of liaising with a wide range of stakeholders
