Electrical Estimator

Biggleswade, Bedfordshire

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in electrical estimating, ideally with on the tools experience with the ability to analyse project requirements, prepare accurate cost estimates, and work collaboratively with project managers and the other preconstruction staff.

We may be willing to consider junior estimators, looking to make a step up from an electrician position.

Electrical Estimator - Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse electrical drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive and compliant cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Source and negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive rates.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate bid proposals from tender documents.
  • Monitor and track project costs, ensuring they align with budget estimates.
  • Provide technical support during the bidding process and post-bid clarification stages.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Participate in project handover meetings to ensure a smooth transition from estimation to execution.
  • Meet internal/external stakeholders and promote the organisation to potential clients.

Electrical Estimator - Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in the construction or electrical industry or willing to learn.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
