Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to join a vibrant and supportive primary or secondary schools based in Islington. These full-time roles, starting in September, offer an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to students with ASD and ADHD, ensuring their individual needs are met.
• Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Work closely with classroom teachers to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Support students in both academic and social activities, fostering their overall development.
• Employ effective behavior management strategies to support positive student behavior.
• Facilitate small group and one-on-one sessions to reinforce learning objectives.
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
• Collaborate with school staff and external professionals to support student learning and well-being.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with students with ASD and ADHD is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of the challenges and strategies associated with supporting students with special educational needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Relevant qualifications or training in special education is a plus.
