The Role:

Our client is a leading specialist management consultancy within the healthcare and life science sector who have an enviable client base across both the public and private sectors. They operate both in the UK and internationally. They are looking to hire a part time Finance Director (2 days a week); the successful person will be a seasoned Finance Director ACA, ACCA, ACMA with current in-depth experience of IFRS a familiarity of WIP accounting and SME environments.

The Remit

Responsible for ensuring effective strategic financial planning, the incoming FD will also need to be hands-on, reviewing management accounts (prepared under IFRS) and performance information packs whilst also overseeing and taking responsibility for a small finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the CEO / MD and acting as a key member of the executive team key duties include:

• Provide strategic and financial guidance to ensure the company’s financial commitments are met
• Contribute to the achievement of business objectives by providing advice and guidance on financial strategy
• Develop and control and report performance of the company’s annual operating budget to ensure that all financial targets are met and financial and statutory regulations complied with
• Further develop the corporate fundraising strategy and manage relationships with partners and investors
• Oversee the preparation of the company’s financial accounts to ensure that these are presented accurately and on time utilising IFRS 
• Develop and implement an internal audit programme to ensure that the company complies with financial procedures and regulations
• Carry out all necessary actions to ensure that the company meets its financial and legal obligations
• Provide financial reports and strategies to the Board
• Participate in strategy reviews, strategy development
