**Location:** Southampton
**Salary:** £50,000 - £80,000 per annum
**Hours:** Monday to Thursday – 07:30 - 17:30, Friday – 07:30 - 13:30

An esteemed mechanical engineering organisation, with over 20 years of experience, is seeking a Pipework Workshop Manager to join their team in Southampton. **Role Overview:**

The primary responsibility of the Pipework Workshop Manager is to oversee and manage the manufacturing process of projects. This includes programming, engineering, material procurement, labour resourcing, quality assurance, and controlling the commercial aspects of the build. The role demands driving the business forward and maintaining the company’s reputation for delivering projects on time, even with tight fabrication schedules.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Liaise with the Estimating department to understand contract requirements.
- Ensure adherence to all codes and industry standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Study fabrication drawings to identify potential issues with materials or manufacturing.
- Create and review bills of materials, mindful of budgets and delivery requirements.
- Prepare work packs for fabrication and produce production schedules.
- Conduct daily progress checks and communicate with workshop supervisors.
- Organise sub-contract activities and interact with third-party inspectors and clientele.
- Address all commercial issues prior to project completion and report relevant information to company directors.

**Skills and Experience Required:**

- Time-served pipefitter with a sound engineering background in the Petro-Chemical, Oil & Gas, or similar industry.

- Excellent management and organisation skills in a similar role
- Proficiency in computer literacy, particularly with Word and Excel.
- High level of mathematical and numerical competency.
- Strong communication skills.
- Understanding and experience with industry codes and standards, including ASME VIII, PD5500, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, CE and UKCA Marking, and welding standards to ASME IX & BS 15614.
