Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people? Do you want to work using strength-based models of social work practice and motivational interviewing? If so, we have an exciting opportunity at Bury for you to join our dedicated Family Safeguarding Team.

We are the first authority within the Greater Manchester area to implement and pioneer Hertfordshire's Family Safeguarding model. This is a fantastic opportunity to change the way we work with children and families to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children of Bury.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize motivational interviewing and a multi-agency approach under the Family Safeguarding model.
  • Collaborate with Social Workers, Family Support Workers, Domestic Abuse Practitioners, Recovery Workers, Mental Health Practitioners, and Psychologists to address family issues efficiently.
  • Support children and their families via Child in Need Plans, Child Protection Plans, PLO pre-proceedings, and Care Proceedings.
  • Build trusting relationships with children and families to support positive and effective engagement, preventing the escalation of needs.

Team Structure:

  • Each Family Safeguarding Team includes five Social Workers, an Advanced Practitioner, a Team Manager, and multi-agency practitioners.
  • Unique supervision approach involving all Family Safeguarding practitioners, ensuring reflective supervisions and responsive plans.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker, registered with SW England.
  • Access to a car for visiting and supporting children and families.
