Swanstaff Ltd are looking for a reputable Deputy Manager within a luxury care setting for our client based in Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire.
This client offers a wide range of personalised care services tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. Services include companionship, personal care, medication reminders, light housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation assistance, and more. 

Essential Skills and Experience:

Level 5 in Leadership and Management (or working towards it)

Positive role model with mentoring skills

Effective communication at all levels

Willingness to undergo vocational training

Satisfactory police and ISA check (if applicable)

Basic Health and Safety knowledge

Good understanding of Infection Control and the Mental Capacity Act/DOLS

Excellent care planning and team leadership experience

Desirable Skills:

Evidence of continuing professional development

Experience in client needs assessment

Audit completion and management experience

Key Responsibilities:

Implementation and Communication:

  • Ensure company standards are consistently implemented.
  • Communicate regularly with the General Manager.
  • Report and document complaints, accidents, and incidents.

Service User Care:

  • Foster a friendly, homely atmosphere for service users.
  • Develop and review individualized care plans regularly.
  • Maintain accurate records as per GDPR and company policies.
  • Conduct fire drills and ensure fire safety.

Health and Safety:

  • Implement Infection Control policies.
  • Record daily fire and health safety checks.
  • Promote Health and Safety policies and participate in relevant training.

Community Engagement:

  • Support service users in maintaining community connections.
  • Oversee care support, social events, and outings.

Care Management:

  • Stimulate residents to lead fulfilling lives.
  • Oversee care and medication administration.
  • Ensure medication and care practices comply with guidelines.
  • Monitor nutritional intake and implement care plans for deficiencies.

Marketing and Occupancy:

  • Support maintaining full occupancy and managing enquiries.
  • Promote positive feedback and ensure rooms are ready for viewing.

Staff Management:

  • Manage staff, offer appraisals, and supervise regularly.
  • Prepare duty rotas and ensure home coverage.
  • Ensure thorough staff induction and competency assessments.

Training:

  • Assist with and identify staff training needs.
  • Ensure staff attend mandatory training.

Building Maintenance:

  • Maintain high hygiene standards and supervise Infection Control.
  • Ensure quick repairs and advise on necessary improvements.
  • Ensure building security.

Administration:

  • Adhere to the medical budget and Health & Safety Act.
  • Oversee cleaning standards and waste disposal.
  • Handle service users' personal and financial affairs per company policy.
  • Liaise with external bodies and organize special functions.

Additional Duties:

Attend company events, seminars, and required training.

Hold and attend staff meetings.

Abide by all company policies and procedures.
