We’re recruiting for a Mechanic to join a friendly family run business situated in Bury.

This role involves repairing vehicles and plant machinery, as well as performing routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal operation of a fleet of around 50 vehicles, mainly HGVs.

What’s on offer?

• £15.00 - £18.00 per hour
• Monday – Friday 7:00am – 5:00pm
• Overtime available
• 28 days holiday

What will you be doing as a Mechanic?

• Repairing vehicles and plant machinery
• Performing routine maintenance checks
• Filling in paperwork
• Advising drivers and digger drivers about technical issues
• Testing vehicles and using diagnostic equipment
• Replacing faulty parts
• Preparing vehicles for MOT
• Adjusting headlights and performing rolling road brake tests

What do you need?

• Experience in the waste industry, particularly with HGVs (Scania preferred)
• Experience with plant machinery
• Good technical knowledge of a wide range of vehicles
• High level of attention to detail
• HGV Licence (preferred)
• Driving Licence (preferred)
• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
