£35,000 - £45,000/annum

Monday - Friday 7am-4pm

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for coordinating the purchasing activity, purchasing resources and purchasing budgets for all materials and subcontracted supply chain activities which support operations. The Purchasing Manager will report to the Head of Procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for sourcing and approving new suppliers
  • Ensure strategies and preferred partners are communicated effectively to
  • Work with Engineering leads and Cost Estimation to agree cost targets and delivery of these targets through the project process
  • Responsible for compiling and delivering the annual budgets
  • Focus on Cost Management and improved levels of transparency (Quotation Analysis Forms) to leverage costs
  • Set objectives for QDCR (quality, delivery, cost, risk) performance reviews
  • Ensure that there is sufficient installed capacity within the supply chain to achieve the 5-year plan volumes
  • Manage escalations from Supply Chain, including root cause analysis and ensuring continuity of supply
  • Manage and develop direct reports, through conducting appraisals and performance reviews, internal/external development, leadership and support and KPI’s
  • Utilise Supplier Dashboard data and information to make recommendations in relation to supplier selection and improvement, ensuring that the Dashboard is completed and maintained

Candidate Requirements:

  • Purchasing in a Manufacturing environment
  • Excellent commercial acumen
  • CIPS qualified / Part-qualified and willing to study preferred
  • Engineering or Design understanding preferable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent organisational skills are crucial for managing multiple tasks, maintaining accurate records, and prioritising workload efficiently
  • Proficiency in computer skills and familiarity with Google Suite would be an advantage
