Job Title: Quality Engineer

Salary: £33,000 - £40,000 (Dependent on Experience)
Shift: Day Shift

Role Overview:

As a Quality Engineer, you will oversee the Quality Inspection departments, ensuring that all shop floor activities are supported with the necessary training and resources. Your role will involve investigating Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), managing concession and deviation requests, resolving customer complaints, organising customer witness inspections, liaising with customers and suppliers, and conducting internal audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the Quality Inspection department.
  • Investigate and address NCRs efficiently.
  • Manage concession and deviation requests.
  • Resolve customer complaints and concerns promptly.
  • Coordinate with the QA department on documentation matters.
  • Schedule and oversee customer witness inspections.
  • Communicate effectively with both customers and suppliers.
  • Conduct internal audits and update operational procedures as necessary.
  • Create and maintain quality forms and documents.
  • Train and mentor inspectors and apprentices.
  • Review CAD drawings and assess new designs.
  • Oversee the calibration system.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

  • Foster strong relationships within the department.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments across the organisation.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with employees at all levels.

Knowledge & Experience:

Essential:

  • High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Experience with various measuring instruments.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the role and the company.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with Epicor Vantage.
  • Strong communication skills across all organisational levels.
  • Excellent relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and commitment.
