About the Role:

The Engineering Supervisor will oversee and support the daily onsite and technical operations of our installation and small works department (Quoted Works). This role involves leading and developing a diverse team of engineers, ensuring the effective delivery of our fire and security solutions while maintaining the highest standards of customer service and technical excellence. You will work closely with the Quoted Works Manager and Project Management Team to ensure projects are executed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineering Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of engineers, monitoring performance using KPIs to maximise effectiveness and efficiency. Develop and implement training and development plans to drive technical and personal growth within the team.

  • Technical Management: Utilise in-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations within the fire and security sector to provide high-level technical support to your team and the wider business, ensuring ongoing compliance.

  • Onsite Support & Customer Relationships: Provide onsite support for service-related issues relevant to your team and technical skillset. Resolve high-level technical issues and conduct site visits with the sales team, reviewing job specifications before and after installation/small works to ensure unrivalled customer experience.

  • Dispute Resolution & Communication: Proactively address customer disputes from both technical and relational perspectives. Clearly communicate updates to all stakeholders until the issue is resolved and the customer is satisfied with the outcome.

  • Resource Management Support: Assist the Project & Small Works Team with scheduling engineering workload and resource allocation. Use your understanding of team skillsets and job requirements to ensure efficient use of engineering capacity.

  • Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality control procedures and standards within the team. Conduct regular inspections and audits of engineering works to ensure compliance with these standards, implementing corrective actions as needed.

  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all team members adhere to health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safe working. Conduct risk assessments and implement necessary safety measures.

  • Collaboration: Work with other engineering supervisors to align engineering practices and maintain consistency across departments. Represent your team in senior leadership meetings and provide technical expertise as required.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of engineering activities, including training and performance data. Support the management team with regular reporting on team performance.

About You:

  • Demonstrated drive and eagerness to learn and grow in a highly technical and customer-facing environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of installation and small works, with experience as an engineer and/or supervisor.
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop a diverse team of engineers, focusing on delivering exceptional customer experience.
  • Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with internal and external team members.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and dedicated, performing all aspects of the role with integrity.
