Commissioning Engineer

Location: Royston (SG8)
Duration: 12 months initially, likely to be extended / become permanent
Hours: 8am until 4pm (Monday to Friday)
Salary: £38,000

Polytec are looking for a Commissioning Engineer for our client based in Royston.
Responsibilities:
* Testing and documenting products using defined processes
* Liaison with build, test and manufacturing engineers and purchasing team
* Negotiating, scheduling and implementing manufacturing priorities
* Ensure production documentation and instructions are correctly recorded and up to date
* Planning of work priorities in their area of responsibility
Requirements:
* ONC / HND / BTEC / City and Guilds in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
* Technician / apprentice trained or substantial relevant experience
* Experience in a technical environment within a high-tech engineering or manufacturing company
* Experience in a precision assembly environment
* Extensive understanding of mechanical, electrical, electronic build and assembly
* Ability to read mechanical, electrical and pneumatic drawings
* Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
* IT literate, competent using Microsoft Office
