The Supply Chain and Warehouse Manager oversees logistical and supply chain activities at the manufacturing centre's. This role ensures supply chain, logistics, and warehouse operations meet the standards of stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and collaborators.

With expertise in managing GMP supply chains and warehousing, the manager will implement processes and IT systems for compliance and efficiency. Experience with SAP and WMS systems is essential for ensuring GMP compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all supply chain and logistics service providers, ensuring they are measured and deliver according to agreed service levels.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, partners, and service providers to manage the selection and performance oversight of suppliers and vendors, including support during supply chain audits.
  • Ensure processes and systems are implemented and suitable for utilizing third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to support the supply of materials and kits for collaborators, in line with standards outlined in Collaboration Agreements and quality technical agreements.
  • Regular communication with collaborators, suppliers, and logistics providers is key to enhancing processes.
  • Develop supply chain and warehouse systems at the manufacturing center to ensure the timely supply, storage, picking, and shipping of all consumables, raw materials, excipients, and product contact materials, meeting required quality standards.
  • Implement and manage effective scheduling and planning tools to support increased material movements and collaborator companies, ensuring the supply chain and logistics group can handle a high throughput manufacturing operation.
  • Establish and enforce chain of custody procedures.
  • Work with internal teams and external supply chain operations to implement best practices and operational improvements.
  • Participate in and lead external and national supply chain initiatives to advance the UK Cell & Gene Therapy industry.

Experience

  • Management experience in a GMP biopharmaceutical warehouse/inventory management environment.
  • Experience managing supply chain/logistic operations.
  • Proficiency in operating multiple supply chain/logistic systems supporting a GMP warehouse/supply chain operation.
  • Proven experience in writing and reviewing GMP documents, such as MBRs, SOPs, change controls, NC investigations, and CAPAs.
  • Demonstrated ability to critically assess and improve work practices and procedures.
  • Experience in managing, leading, and motivating teams, as well as training and serving as a role model for staff in a GMP warehouse facility.
  • Experience interacting with regulatory authorities and interacting with clients and collaborators.
  • Commitment to continuous personal development in line with the position's requirements and any relevant professional or statutory requirements.
