NeuroSupport services are currently recruiting Support Workers and Healthcare Assistants  with a background of Brain Injury and Mental health experience to support services users with an acquired Brain Injury. Our service aims to support rehabilitation and in enabling people to optimise independence and quality of life.

We are looking for psychology graduates,support Workers and Healthcare Assistants  or suitable candidates  who would be willing to support people both within their home environment and also willing to provide support in helping service users access the community. We are looking for candidates that are confident with working independently and providing empirical feedback where necessary.

THIS IS A UK BASED POSITION

  • YOU HAVE UK WORK EXPERIENCE IN A SIMILAR ROLE
  • YOUR CV CLEARLY SHOWS YOUR RELEVENT EXPERIENCE WHICH RELATES TO THE POSITION YOU ARE APPLYING FOR.
  • EXPERIENCE IN BRAIN INJURY SUPPORT
  • A FULL CLEAN UK DRIVERS LICENCE AND ACCESS TO A CAR YOU CAN USE FOR WORK

Job Title: Support Worker

Hourly Rate: £12-£14 per hour depending on experience.

Days & Hours: 

Tuesday 3PM-8PM

Wednesday 3PM-8PM

Saturday 10AM-6PM (Alternate weekends)

About you-Essential Experience:

The ability to relate positively and enthusiastically to young people, and a commitment to uphold our client’s dignity, build his self-esteem and confidence and promote new skills, independence, and self-determination. The support worker must be able to relate sensitively to other members of the family and to respect their personal boundaries and privacy. The support worker must be able to work on their own, take responsibility, respond sensitively and speedily as required in any situation, follow guidelines, and communicate any areas of concern clearly and promptly. At all times the support worker must prioritise the needs and wishes of our client and be alert to his safety and enjoyment. The support worker’s behaviour and attitude will provide a positive role model to our client. 

It is essential that the support worker has a full, clean driving licence & someone who speaks clear English is required.

About our client:

We require a Support Worker to work with a young boy with cerebral palsy in his own home and in the community. To provide support and encouragement in aiming towards a positive, independent lifestyle.        

-To act as a driver and accompany the client to activities, once a positive and trusting relationship has been established. 

-Supporting with social activities.

-To administer medication, as prescribed by a hospital or G.P.  A daily written record should be kept of all drugs administered.

-To assist the client with exercises and treatment as instructed by any identified therapist/the client and or the client’s parents.

-To offer the client opportunities to develop his independence and social opportunities, both at home and the community. 

-To liaise with external agencies as directed in relation to the individual needs of the client (G.P, Speech Therapist, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist etc). 

-To be familiar with all aspects of personal care and daily living for the client once training has been given and assist as required. 

-To undertake training, regular reviews and receive supervision as arranged by the case manager.

  • Have at least six months experience of working in a support worker role or similar, in the past three years.
  • Must have a Full UK Driving License and access to your own car
  • Have Experience in the field of Psychology 
  • Willing to become self-employed
