Quality Assurance Engineer – Based Poole

Days Only – Immediate Start!

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will support the team to ensure all quality standards and procedures are met to legislation, standards, and customer specifications whilst also supporting key projects in working to reduce cost of poor quality. Previous experience in a quality assurance related role within a highly regulated manufacturing organised industry, is essential.

Your role will be to investigate and identify the root cause of quality problems, recommend a solution to the problem, and implement a robust corrective action. A significant part of this role is control plan, inspection and test plans, and advanced product quality planning.

Basic salary £42,000 plus excellent benefits and career development

Candidate

  • ISO9001 Lead Assessor qualification with experience in conducting internal audits.
  • Effective communicator at levels throughout the business, customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Experience in working with problem solving methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, Ishikawa, 5Why’s etc.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office
  • Strong to attention to detail with an ability to manage your own time
  • Able to work calmly under pressure

Any knowledge of the following would be advantageous, but not essential:

  • ISO14001, ISO45001, ASME ‘N’ & ‘NPT’, PED, ATEX and Functional Safety.
  • Working with APQP related elements such as PPAP, Control Plans, DFMEA, PFMEA
  • Mechanical Engineering background
  • Conducting supplier audits.
  • Knowledge of NDE testing
  • NDE / PCN Level 2 Qualified.
  • General understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation

Duties

  • You will support the quality assurance team with continuous improvement activities to reduce the cost of poor quality and investigation into issues raised by the shop floor ensuring a clear root cause has been identified and effective corrective actions are implemented by using effective problem-solving tools such as 8D, DMAIC, Ishikawa and 5 Whys.
  • Create and manage high value customer documentation packs which require approval by the high value customer prior to product shipment.
  • Support the department in the on-going upkeep and maintenance of the integrated management system to maintain compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001
  • Conduct internal audits in accordance with the internal audit plan, this would include creating audit reports, raising corrective action reports for any non-conformities, and following actions to verification and closure.
  • Support the team during customer and regulatory audits and assessments, supplier audit plans, and raise change notes if required.
  • Liaise and support to customer services team regarding customer complaints and raising corrective action reports if required.
