Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Project Manager to join a leading building services company based near Blackpool. The successful candidate will initially take a key role in managing mechanical services for a major new build education facility in Cheshire and you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of mechanical installations on this prestigious project. There are also further projects secured in the North-West.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of mechanical systems installation for the newbuild education facility, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets.
Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate a team of mechanical engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, fostering collaboration and ensuring clear communication across all parties.
Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support on mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and other building services. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and implement strategies to mitigate them. Regularly review project progress and adjust plans as necessary to maintain project objectives.
Quality Assurance: Monitor and enforce quality control procedures, ensuring that all mechanical works are completed to the highest standards and in compliance with the project specifications.
Budget Control: Manage project finances, including cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting. Ensure that the project is delivered within the allocated budget.
Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for the client, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring that their requirements and expectations are met.
Health & Safety: Uphold the highest standards of health and safety on site, ensuring that all activities comply with company policies and legal requirements.

Requirements:

Experience: Demonstrable experience in a similar role within the building services industry, with a focus on mechanical systems in new build projects.
Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant mechanical qualification. Professional qualifications such as CEng, MCIBSE, or similar are highly desirable.
Skills: Strong project management skills with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and related building services. Familiarity with relevant UK building regulations and standards.
Location: Must be based in the North-West within feasible commute of Blackpool area. Willingness to travel to the project sites around Manchester.
Driving License: Full UK driving license is essential.
