You will need to demonstrate an ability to work independently and take responsibility for all aspects of the installation process. You must be able to communicate effectively with customers and other members of the team.

• Starting rate £220 with opportunity for career progression to increase upto £260 per day

The requirements you will need;

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in fitted furniture installation (You will be required to undergo a scribe assessment prior to attending their residential training course)
• Full driving licence access to a large van (Long Wheelbase vehicle)
• A good level of physical fitness
• iPhone (For the fitter app)
• First class carpentry/joinery skills
• Access to storage space/a lock up if you live more than 25 miles from one of their Regional Service centres

Once you have applied for the role;

Our Recruiter will be in touch to screen your application and arrange a WhatsApp video interview (which takes no longer than 30 mins). The purpose of the interview is to determine if you meet our criteria; skilled installer, responsible service provider, customer focused.

If you meet Hammonds criteria, we then arrange a scribe test at your nearest Regional Service Centre. A scribe test is a short assessment of your ability to scribe our furniture. You will be required to bring your own tools and equipment to complete the test. This takes no longer than 90 minutes. At this point you’ll need to bring evidence of your Right to Work and Public Liability Insurance.

Once you’ve passed the scribe test, we will invite you to their all-inclusive residential course (4-day course running Monday – Thursday) for a product familiarisation and Hammonds immersion course. (Travel, accommodation & meals will be paid for & you will be paid £100 per day for attending). This ensures you have the bespoke skills and knowledge to represent our business and work at a reasonable pace with exceptional quality and service.

We will then arrange 2 weeks shadow training in your local area – This is paid training at £120 per day plus travel expenses). This gives you a sense of the flow of a typical day and helps you build some peer relationships.

After you complete the shadow training (week 4 onwards) you will start to be allocated work based on your stipulated availability at our standard day rate. At this point you will be supported by a Hammonds’ Divisional Manager, with the additional support of the Training and Support team remotely.
