Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Near Southampton with Hybrid Working Options

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 per annum

Sector: Utilities/Civil Engineering/MEICA

Overview: We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen our Commercial team near Southampton. This role involves overseeing the Commercial Management of various projects, ensuring that all aspects of quantity surveying are handled efficiently and effectively. Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing costs, contracts, and the performance of subcontractors.

Main Duties:

• Manage quantity surveying tasks for projects and work packages.
• Collaborate with design, construction, and supply chain teams to control costs.
• Ensure all contractual notices and correspondence are managed properly.
• Prepare and issue subcontract documentation and oversee procurement processes.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and manage payment applications.
• Prepare project cost & value reports, budgets, and forecasts.
• Assist in developing and mentoring junior commercial staff.
• Stay updated on industry changes through networking and professional development.
• Maintain a positive approach and provide open, honest feedback.
• Ensure professional and constructive relationships in all internal and external contacts.

Candidate Requirements:

• Degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Working toward or holding chartered membership in a recognized institution.
• Experience in utilities, civil engineering, or MEICA sectors.
• NEC3 contract experience.
• Experience managing or developing a small team.
