Position: Accounts & Purchase Ledger Clerk
Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Birkenhead – Office Based
Salary: £23,500-£25,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (Monday – Thursday) and then 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (Friday)
 
Company Overview: Join our client’s ever growing engineering company at their head office in the Birkenhead area. This company has a strong client base across the North West area and the role requires the right candidate to support with accountancy and purchase ledger related duties.

Join Their Team: This position is joining our client’s accountancy and finance team and your key responsibility will be to support the Finance Director with all aspects of purchase ledger clerk related duties. The role also requires regular use and the updating of their SAGE Line 50 accountancy system.

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Assisting the Finance team with all accountancy and finance related telephone calls.
  • Processing of purchasing invoices received by e-mail and this includes unique code, distribute and update spreadsheets activity.
  • Check supplier statements against purchase invoices on SAGE accounts.
  • Liaising with other departments in reference to other missing purchase invoices.
  • Entering authorised purchase invoices into the SAGE accounts from the company’s CRM system to ensure all correct information is inputted.
  • Assisting in the setting up of new supplier accounts.
  • The processing of company credit card statements and supplier questionnaires as and when received.


Qualifications and Skills:
 

  • At least 1-2 years experience in a relevant accountancy role – ideally to also have purchase ledger clerk experience.
  • Experience using relevant accountancy software – specifically SAGE Line 50.
  • Well organised and able to meet tight deadlines.
