Contracts Manager

We are working with a new customer who are a subsidary of one the largest global IT Services & Consulting business, specialising in Cloud & Data Centre Migration and AI Solutions.

JOB PURPOSE

You will be a valued member of the legal team by providing pragmatic legal support to members of the business in their day to day activities – e.g. the sales, pre-sales, operational, HR, finance, procurement and management teams.

The legal team is responsible for negotiating, drafting and reviewing commercial contracts between the client and third party suppliers, as a reseller for its various customers. The aim is to ensure that risk is minimal and to ensure compliance with applicable law at all times. The team provides pragmatic advice and guidance on legal and compliance issues that may affect our business in multiple jurisdictions in which we operate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide practical, commercial and concise advice, guidance and support on contract terms, legal issues and business risks.
  2. Review and amend terms in a variety of agreements including supplier and customer contracts, software licences, SaaS agreements, Purchase Order terms, EULAs, master service agreements and related SOWs, agency and service provision agreements.
  3. Negotiate with customers and suppliers in line with business requirements and company policies to achieve business objectives and the required allocation of risk.
  4. Manage and maintain contracts registers and contract management systems.
  5. Work closely with various departments to on-board new suppliers and customers.
  6. Research legal and regulatory issues which arise from time to time.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & BEHAVIOUR

  1. Legal training (for-example, law degree, LPC, GDL) and proven practical experience to demonstrate solid understanding and application of fundamental legal principles, particularly in relation to commercial contracts.
  2. In house experience across a range of commercial agreements, preferably in the IT industry, reseller for a multi-national business.
  3. Good knowledge of contract law and some knowledge of cross-border agreements and the additional complications they pose to the parties.
  4. A good understanding of data protection legislation and its relevance to commercial transactions.
  5. Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as part of a team.
  6. Confident in own skills in order to make decisions which align with the law and the businesses requirements.
