Founded in 1997, GamCare is one of the leading providers of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling harms. They operate the National Gambling Helpline, provide treatment for anyone who is harmed by gambling, create awareness about safer gambling and treatment, and encourage an effective approach to safer gambling within the gambling industry.

The Role

Following the success of GamCare’s Young People’s Gambling Harm Prevention Programme, which has directly reached over 130,000 young people and trained over 28,000 professionals, they have secured funding to continue delivering this essential work and invite you to join them on this exciting journey.

As an Education and Training Lead you will engage key stakeholders in your region, deliver accredited training to professionals, run interactive workshops with young people, deliver awareness sessions with parents/carers, and collaborate with your colleagues to ensure the ongoing improvement and success of the programme.

You will form part of an enthusiastic and supportive team who are committed to supporting young people affected by gambling harms across the United Kingdom. You might have a basic understanding of gambling harms, but if you have the enthusiasm to learn all about it in a non-judgemental way, they would like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with regional colleagues to develop new and maintain existing relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Acting as a frontline ambassador for GamCare, upholding their values and championing the organisation’s work.
  • Utilising your skills and experience in public speaking, presenting, and facilitating, to deliver interactive and engaging sessions to young people, professionals, and parents/carers.
  • Ensuring the relevant monitoring and evaluation forms are provided.
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with your colleagues in the youth programme, their partner networks, and across GamCare.
  • Sharing best practice and building a positive team environment, ensuring our stakeholders have a memorable experience, and that they deliver the best possible programme.

About You

If you are skilled at engaging young people or facilitating training and can build strong relationships with stakeholders to generate interest in what their programme offers, then you might be exactly who they are looking for.

As the successful candidate you will be responsible for the promotion and delivery of activity for the BigDeal Programme in your allocated region, equating to 1,900 young people and 225 adults.

With demonstrable experience of championing, promoting, and marketing the work of a programme or service you will actively seek out opportunities in your region, maintain relationships with stakeholders through accurate and timely record keeping, and identify and secure future opportunities for programme delivery.

If you are passionate about preventing harm experienced by children and young people, enjoy working in a collaborative team environment but are comfortable working autonomously, then this role is for you.
