Ethan James Group are working with a large well respected Facilities Management Contractor on an exciting new opportunity for a new contract win in Taunton, Somerset.

The position is for an experience Hard Services Manager with specific experience within Critical environments to manage the technical hard services operations on a critical site with a small Data Centre.

Duties of the Hard Services Operations Manager are as follows

  • Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment, and systems to meet and exceed expectations, and agreed service level agreements.
  • Sub-contractor management, including review meetings, ensure safe working practises are adhered to and keeping them honest.
  • To conduct regular reviews of operating procedures, not limiting to logbooks, QHSE, observations, audits, EOP’s, SOP’s and electrical safety programs, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Act as an escalation for all issues, subject matter expert across all M&E queries and people/client management.
  • Liaise and keep informed both the client and the senior management on all aspects of operational commitments.
  • Responsible for incident management in prioritising and coordinating events until closure, keeping concise records during escalations, and raising incidents, add actions and risks to the register across the platform, Quantum.
  • Ensure there is 100% compliance across the asset management system (CAFM).
  • An up-to-date life cycle report, highlighting opportunities for improvement and managing risk.
  • To prepare and present the weekly operational report during the client meeting.
  • Compiling and analysing key data for submission to the Account Manager for monthly reporting.

The ideal Hard Services Operations Manager will have 

  • Technical qualification either Mechanical or Electrical to minimum level 3
  • Management qualification or experience within Hard Services Operations
  • Experience of working in a fast paced, operational environment.
  • Strong relationship management with colleagues, clients and sub-contractors demonstrating excellent communication / influencing skills.
  • Robust and assertive attitude towards achieving results.
  • Strong organizational abilities ensuring all documentation is stored and auditable.
  • HV/LV AP is desirable.
