Craig Y Parc school are looking to employ a supportive, caring and empathetic Designated Safeguarding and Family Liaison Lead to join our expanding team and work alongside our existing team of professionals including therapists, teachers and support staff.
In this role, you will be responsible for two integral elements of the school; safeguarding and family liaison.
You will take lead on safeguarding, implementing the school’s Safeguarding Policy and all other safeguarding processes and procedures. This will include contributing to effective partnership working between all those involved with providing safeguarding services for children. As the DSFL you will also provide day to day advice and guidance to school staff to enable them to support pupils effectively. In addition you will lead on all initial safeguarding concerns raised within the school, working directly alongside the Head Teacher and providing support to the children, families and staff team.
You will also lead on family liaison. Your duties will include supporting pupils from the very start of their journey, supporting the initial assessment process and ensuring a smooth and supportive transition to their new school. You will maintain open communication and a cohesive approach between home and school for both therapy and education as well as co-ordinating multi-disciplinary teams to develop a bespoke package of support for each individual.
The purpose of the Designated Safeguarding and Family Liaison Officer will ensure effective communication between every stakeholder involved in supporting the pupils at Craig y Parc and that all pupils’ statemented needs are met.

The Right Person for the Role Will Have:
- Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with ALN, SLD/PMLD, ADHD and ASD
- Experience working within a Designated Safeguarding role, including processing safeguarding concerns.
- Experience leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams
- GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent
