DevSecOps Contract Engineer (6-12 Months) - GitLab

£700 a day - Financial Services

Location: Fully remote

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer for a 6-12-month contract position within the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in GitLab infrastructure and end-user workflow improvements. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a critical project, enhancing the security, observability, and maintainability of our GitLab self-managed instance, as well as improving the Software Development Life Cycle processes for our teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. GitLab Infrastructure Focused Work:
• Lead vulnerability remediation efforts for our GitLab self-managed instance.
• Implement workflow improvements for the platform team, streamlining deployment and maintenance processes.
• Improve Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) automation and maintainability for better security and compliance.
2. GitLab End-User Workflow Improvements:.
• Optimize user experience for developers and engineers using GitLab, focusing on usability and adoption.
• Implement best practices to ensure a seamless and efficient workflow for all GitLab users.
• Apply your deep understanding of the financial services industry to align DevSecOps practices with regulatory and compliance requirements.

Desired Experience:

• Extensive Experience with GitLab: Proven track record in implementing, managing, and optimizing GitLab infrastructure and user workflows.
• DevSecOps Expertise: Strong background in DevSecOps practices, particularly within the financial services industry.
• Vulnerability Management: Demonstrated experience in vulnerability remediation, observability enhancements, and RBAC automation.
• SDLC Process Improvement: Expertise in improving collaboration and control of SDLC processes within GitLab.
