Assistant Management Accountant

Location: Rochdale

Salary: £28,000 to £32,000 DOE plus Study Support 

In the role of Assistant Management Accountant, you will work closely with the UK Management Accountant to help prepare the UK Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual eager to take on a hands-on role within a rapidly expanding business.

The Assistant Management Accountant Overview:

• Support in the creation of the monthly UK management accounts, owning and challenging significant sections of the P+L to agreed deadlines.
• Support the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process
• Investigate any unreconciled items in a timely manner and report to the Financial Accountant.
• Post and prepare period-end journal entries for a range of financial statement captions, such as Fixed Assets, Prepayments and Accruals
• Assist the year-end audit process by supporting the creation of year-end audit files.
• Assist in the creation of the UK budget and mid-year re-forecasts.
• Review new sales orders to ensure all the correct documentation has been collected.
• Assist both the Financial Accountant & Management Accountant with the monthly collation of stock count results and physical verification and maintenance of fixed assets and the UK Fixed Asset Register.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly supplier cost packs.

Your Experience as an Assistant Management Accountant:

• Finance degree educated is essential
• Part qualified in ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Experience working in a similar Assistant Management Accountant or a transactional finance role in a high-growth SME Environment is desirable
• Ability to create a set of management Accounts (P&L and Balance Sheet)
• Experience in providing month-end accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis to specific deadlines.
• Strong inter-personal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts at all levels
• Excel skills are essential, ability to create formula up to a VLOOKUP standard
• Ability to work autonomously by managing your own workload and role responsibility
