Sustainability Analyst

Eastleigh, Southampton.

A fast-paced, global business specializing in bespoke products for inflight/onboard use on airlines and supplying a wide range of patient comfort items to the NHS and UK medical sector is seeking an individual with a passion for sustainability to drive this through all aspects of the business, including product development and procurement.

This integral role is part of a team working together to create a range of sustainable products offered to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure sustainability permeates every aspect of the business.
  • Recommend and implement new processes and policies for sustainable development.
  • Regularly review, update, and communicate company policies.
  • Ensure the supply base consistently meets sustainability standards.
  • Support and measure the Net Zero supplier roadmap implementation.
  • Collaborate with design and procurement teams on sustainability considerations.
  • Complete supplier questionnaires related to sustainability.
  • Conduct Product Life Cycle Assessments using specialized software.
  • Research and develop circular solutions for products with commercial viability.
  • Stay informed on, and ensure compliance with, ESG and global environmental regulations.
  • Provide sustainability expertise and advice to clients and internally.
  • Track, record, and reduce Scope 1 & 2 emissions, and collaborate on Scope 3 emissions.
  • Liaise with manufacturing on sustainability policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Drive the company’s Net Zero plan across the business.
  • Maintain ISO14001 accreditation and ensure compliance with external audits.
  • Conduct competitor analysis on sustainability practices.
  • Research customer sustainability objectives and align company efforts.
  • Contribute to sustainability-focused social media content.

Requirements:

  • Passion for sustainability and integrating it into the business.
  • Experience managing projects independently with an organized, methodical approach.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • 8:00 – 16:00 on-site. Potential hybrid working for the right candidate.

Skills:

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong team player with problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence in researching and advising on best sustainability practices.
  • Numerate with budgeting skills and Literate with strong writing abilities for tender submissions and presentations.
