Alexander James Recruiting is currently working with a leading material handling manufacturer who are looking to recruit a new apprentice forklift engineer. With full training and qualifications provided there is long-term potential to qualify and to progress into a more senior role within the business. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get into an apprenticeship and build a career as an engineer.


Responsibilities

  • Carrying out maintenance and repairs on forklift trucks and other material handling equipment
  • Learning on the job; developing an understanding of diesel, gas and electric forklifts and learning procedures for maintenance
  • Attending college and using the knowledge gained from on-the-job training
  • Completing course related assignments and company training programs
  • Feeding back to management with information regarding your progress and college work


Requirements

The company require the right candidate to hold an English and Maths GCSE at level 9-4 (A*-C equivalent). A full UK driving license is also required. It is essential that applicants are looking to get into an industry long-term and are capable of learning on the job whilst studying outside of working hours. Ultimately, the right candidate would be someone who is driven and is keen to learn a skill to get a career for life. In terms of location, you must be based within commutable distance of Leicester.

Having obtained consistent growth for the last 30 years, they’re expecting this to continue and are therefore looking to train new apprentices into fully qualified engineers to service the consistently expanding client base.
