We are working with a company who seek a Structural Engineer for their small team who are involved in the design and construction of steel structures in the UK and overseas. As Structural Engineer you will have the opportunity to work with industrial, commercial, leisure and other specialist structures.

They need a Structural Engineer who will work throughout the project lifecycle until delivered to site. This means that not only will you take on the technical elements of the project but look at it from a Value Engineering perspective. There may be times when you will be involved at pre-design stage.

Key responsibilities:
* Involved from conceptual design through to site management handover, working in partnership with the sales team
* Value engineering projects and taking a lead in preparing CDM risk register
* Undertaking design calculations (all connections, bolts and welds) and linear element or finite element analysis
* Attending meetings, both internal and client facing, and visiting UK-based sites for checking purposes
* Working with the client to create operation and maintenance manuals

We are looking for Structural Engineers from Graduate level through to Senior Engineer level, with salary to match experience (starting at £26,000 for new Graduates)

Essential requirements:
* Degree qualified in an engineering discipline, ideally structural engineering and possess the requisite engineering knowledge
* Possessing an understanding of bending moments and forces, as well as Linear and FEA
* Willing and able to learn relevant software
* Able to attend the office five days per week
* Working towards Chartered membership of the Institution of Structural Engineers
* Collaborative approach and good communication skills

Ideally you will also have knowledge of structural steel design (Eurocode 3 or BS 1993-1-1 and/or seismic design

You will be joining a small team of Structural Engineers, all of whom are either Chartered Engineers or working towards Chartered Membership of the IStructE. This company pride themselves on their commitment to their people and development, and are happy to support your progress to Chartered Engineer (with their own trainer in-house), as well as reimbursing your IStructE membership fees.
There is a very clear progression path from Graduate Engineer through to Principal Engineer, using competencies to measure your progress. Every member of the team can see the impact they make on the projects they work on. You will be working on a good range of projects both UK and worldwide, and for a variety of clients.

Benefits:
* £26,000 for Graduate Engineer, rising to c£47,000 for Structural Engineer
* 25 days holiday + statutory days
