Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Site Manager to join our clients' team for a prestigious project in Boston Spa. This is a key role where you will oversee and manage all mechanical aspects of the project, ensuring that work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards. The project is expected to continue for two years, offering the successful candidate stability and the opportunity to be part of an iconic development and you will be working on the refurbishment and modernisation of an historical building. 

Key Responsibilities

Project Management: Oversee all mechanical site activities, including the installation of HVAC systems, plumbing, and other mechanical components. Ensure that the project is delivered according to the specified requirements and within the agreed timeframe and budget.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to maintain a safe working environment.
Team Leadership: Lead and manage the on-site mechanical team, including subcontractors. Provide clear direction, support, and motivation to ensure high standards of workmanship and productivity.
Quality Control: Monitor the quality of work on site, ensuring that it meets the company's standards and specifications. Address any issues promptly to avoid delays and ensure the integrity of the installation.
Coordination: Work closely with other site managers, engineers, and project stakeholders to coordinate activities and ensure smooth progress. Liaise with the client and their representatives to maintain strong relationships and clear communication.
Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Project Manager on the progress of mechanical works, including any potential risks or issues that may impact the project's success. Maintain accurate records of site activities and progress.

Requirements

Proven experience in managing mechanical works on high value building service projects.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and associated components.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams to achieve high standards.
Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations in a building services environment.
Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify and resolve issues swiftly and effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Valid driving license.
