Ackerman Pierce is actively recruiting a Service Manager for the Family Support and Protection Service in Rochdale. This position is initially for 3-6 months, with potential for extension based on performance and internal circumstances.

Responsibilities:

• You will assist the Head of Service, with the development and delivery of the family Support and Protection service and contribute to all service and development planning.
• You will lead on a number of thematic areas within the service area providing specialist knowledge and skills within CIN, Child Protection and care proceedings work.
• You will work alongside the current service manager to deliver operational support to the teams you are responsible for including quality assuring the teams.
• You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Service in accordance with Council policies, procedures, and national service standards.
• You will deputise for the Head of Service and represent the service at external meetings as and when required.
• You will attend meetings of the Family Support and Protection Service Management Boards where appropriate, the Local safeguarding board and present on areas of work as and when required.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience as a Service Manager within the UK Social Care industry.

Minimum Requirements:

• 5 years' post-qualification experience in a similar role within the UK.
• Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can assist with obtaining this).
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• DipSW/CQSW equivalent.
• SWE Qualification.
