The Senior IT Product Owner will be responsible for ownership & development of all aspects of corporate Information Technology supporting efficient operation of all departments, with a strong focus on securing the company’s data (at all classifications) and protecting against malicious activity.

The Senior IT Product Owner will hold the operations department to account for effective delivery of corporate information technology. They will report to the Head of Product Management and Innovation as the lead for their function and will be responsible to the Chief Information Security Officer, and Chief of Staff for meeting the IT requirements of users across all functions within the company.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Guide and oversee the development of Corporate Information Technology products, ensuring they meet both user needs and security requirements.

Collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams, including software suppliers, Infrastructure and security engineers, and other IT professionals, to achieve project and corporate goals and maintain a secure corporate environment.

Plan and schedule product release timelines, coordinating with key stakeholders to minimize disruptions and ensure timely delivery of secure products.

Stay informed about emerging security threats, trends, and best practices to continuously update product security features and improve overall system protection.

Collect and manage requirements using appropriate tools and techniques.

Prioritise and manage the product backlog, refining features, and organising tasks based on importance and urgency.

Gather and analyse user feedback to better understand and address customer needs, while maintaining high security standards across all internal product offerings.

Create and communicate the internal product portfolio's vision and strategy, ensuring all team members understand their roles and responsibilities in achieving these objectives.

Facilitate communication between different team members, departments, and stakeholders to ensure everyone is on the same page and working towards a shared goal.

Monitor and track progress throughout the product development lifecycle, making necessary adjustments to maintain focus on security, performance, and user satisfaction.

Act as the primary point of contact between the development team, security team, and other business units, ensuring consistent communication and collaboration at all stages of Information Technology Service delivery.

Produce regular reports to the leadership team to keep them appraised of progress and any risks to delivery.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related field, or relevant experience and qualifications

Ideally someone who has been an IT product owner for infrastructure/ IaaS type organisations, within a highly governed environment with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the IT Industry (transferrable skills will including Project Management, Marketing, Commercial & Information Security)

Knowledge and experience of corporate information technology including collaboration tools, ERP, Portfolio, Programme and Project Management, cloud computing and security technologies.

Understanding of security frameworks, standards, and regulations, such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework and NCSC Cyber Essentials+,

Ability to effectively communicate concepts and risks to executive leadership, board members, and technical teams, and ability to build consensus.

Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering a culture of security awareness and accountability, and driving initiatives to successful outcomes.

UK Security Check (SC) clearance is required for this position. Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain SC clearance, with a view to obtaining UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance as required.
