Quantity Surveyor

About the business:

We have recently been appointed by a highly reputable main contractor to assist in their search for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team on an upcoming project in Portsmouth. The business, with a turn over of circa £100mil, operates out of regional offices across the South of England undertaking projects across the commercial, industrial, defence and retail sectors with projects valuing up to £25mil. Projects are administered via a mix of JCT and NEC forms of contract.

About this Quantity Surveyor role:

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be working on an upcoming project in Portsmouth as number two, reporting into a Senior Quantity Surveyor on site. You will be responsible for managing various sub-contract packages from procurement through to final account, undertaking monthly CVRs. The project will have a programme of circa 18 months and there is a strong pipeline of work to follow.

Key responsibilities as Quantity Surveyor:

• Be involved in pre-construction activities
• Manage sub-contract packages from procurement through to final account.
• Undertake monthly CVRs
• Build relationship with client / clients representatives

Requirements for this Quantity Surveyor position:

• Possess a HNC / Construction related degree (BSc Quantity Surveying / Construction Management)
• Have a track record of working for a main contractor of similar size
• Have working knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract
• Live within commutable distance to Portsmouth and be happy to travel to site / office
