About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Manager to lead our children's home and ensure it delivers the highest quality of care to the children entrusted to us. As the Registered Manager, you will be accountable for all aspects of the home's operation, from ensuring compliance with regulations to providing strategic direction and leadership to the staff team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management and Leadership:
    • Oversee the day-to-day running of the children's home, ensuring it meets all regulatory requirements (Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015) and delivers outstanding care.
    • Lead and motivate a team of care staff, providing coaching, supervision, and performance management.
    • Develop and implement a clear vision and strategy for the home, focused on achieving positive outcomes for children.
  • Safeguarding and Wellbeing:
    • Prioritise the safety and well-being of all children in the home, ensuring a nurturing and secure environment.
    • Work closely with social workers and other professionals to develop and implement individual care plans for each child.
    • Manage any risks and incidents effectively, adhering to safeguarding procedures.
  • Compliance and Quality:
    • Ensure the home is compliant with all relevant legislation, regulations, and quality standards (Ofsted).
    • Lead on self-assessment and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Liaise with Ofsted inspectors and respond to any recommendations.
  • Finance and Resources:
    • Manage the home's budget effectively, ensuring financial sustainability.
    • Secure and manage resources to meet the needs of the children and staff.

Person Specification:

  • 2 years Children's Residential Home Management Experience in the last 5 years
  • 5 years' experience working with OFSTED
  • Excellent leadership and management skills with a strong commitment to person-centred care.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Proven ability to manage staff performance and development.
  • Strong safeguarding awareness and a commitment to promoting children's well-being.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • IT literate with a working knowledge of relevant software packages.
