Bedford (Hybrid) 

£27,436 per annum

Full time (37 hours per week) 

  

We are looking for a Commercial Co-Ordinator to help maintain good commercial controls, systems, policies, procedures and record keeping within the In-House Maintenance Service (IHMS), to control expenditure.  

You will assist in all the financial aspects of the IHMS and subcontractor jobs, right through from creation to financial completion. You will be an effective team member, who can provide information and data to the commercial management team, for both In-House Maintenance Departments and external contractors.  

  

Some of your responsibilities will include: 

  • Playing a key role in supporting the commercial team and contribute to effective data and cost capture 

  • Administering quotations and invoicing ensuring the correct codes are being used and they are appropriate for the works being claimed for 

  • Assisting in the valuing of completed works and arranging for payment 

  • Completing ad-hoc requisitions and purchase orders as required 

  • Raising new jobs and variations in the job management system to cover costs for the IHMS 

  • Administering variations for jobs created in the job management system by schedulers, planners, and operatives 

  

We are looking for someone with:  

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in a Commercial environment within a property maintenance or similar sector 

  • Good general knowledge of the construction industry 

  • Good basic IT, numerical and data analytical skills with the ability to learn new packages 

  •  A strong, demonstrable commitment to excellence in customer service and partnership working with colleagues across the organisation 

  • Demonstrate working well within a team environment 

  • High degree of numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail 

  • It would be desirable if you had knowledge of the NHF schedule of rates, and/or other cost recovery methods 

  • Experience of using housing management systems would be desirable.
