Quantity Surveyor - Andover (office based)

Salary: £40,000 to £48,000 dependant on experience

Shenton Group is on the lookout for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team and report into our Commercial Manager. The successful candidate will provide a professional and conscientious service to both internal and external stakeholders.

What’s the role?

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be required to provide and deliver a consistently high, efficient, and professional level of commercial support to the Projects and Sales team. You will need a focus on quality with strong attention to detail with a positive solution-focused approach.  

This role requires collaboration across departments and strong communication skills to achieve objectives.  

You will also on occasion travel to client sites within the UK to attend meetings and act as an ambassador of the Shenton Group brand.

What do you need?

A healthy dose of grit, humility, conscientiousness and emotional intelligence for starters!

You need to have a keen attitude and take a positive solution-focused approach to engaging with our clients and your cross-departmental colleagues. You should have good attention to detail and be able to work effectively with minimal supervision. You should also be able to comfortably manage a constantly fluctuating workload with grace and good attention to detail.

You need a relevant QS qualification and have 3 years experience of working in a similar role as a minimum. Experience of the construction industry would be a great benefit! Sound knowledge and experience of commercial contracts is essential, as is good financial understanding of cashflows, budgets, gross profit and profit and loss.

A good practical application of Microsoft Software, including Project, Excel and Word is required, experience of SAP would be a bonus.
