Role: Chemistry Technician - Temporary 12 months fixed term contract

Location: Kettering, UK Salary: Up to £24,500 (plus 10% shift allowance)

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week

Our client has a full-time, fixed term contract role for 12 months, or a Technician to work in their Chemistry department.

Hours for the position are Monday to Friday 6am – 2pm. A 10% shift allowance is paid on top of the salary.

The chemical testing team consists of around 20 multi skilled technicians, technologists, and other support staff. The chemical laboratory houses a range of analytical equipment including GC-MS, HPLC and LC-MS. Testing for restricted substances and assessing the chemical properties of a range of consumer products against international and European standards is carried out to show due diligence or to apply for CE or UKCA certification.

About The Role

The successful applicant will be expected to carry out the following:

• Routine chemical testing to standard procedures within an accredited laboratory environment
• Calculate and record results and observations in an understandable manner
• Routine analytical equipment maintenance tasks
• Complete and maintain personal training records
• Work to deadlines
• Work independently and as part of the laboratory team
• Full training will be provided, although previous laboratory experience is desirable.

About You

• You will possess GCSE or equivalent in English, Maths and at least one science subject at Grade C or above
• You should be familiar with MS Word and Excel

• Have good attention to detail and thoroughness
• You should be highly motivated, reliable & flexible
• Be able to follow instructions accurately
• You should have good teamworking skills and be experienced at meeting deadlines
• Possess enthusiasm and a helpful attitude
• You will need good time management, organisation and communication skills
