My long-established client provides a wide range of soft FM services including, cleaning, window cleaning and ground maintenance services. Their client base includes Housing Associations, property and FM companies, offices, residential care homes, business parks, industrial estates, private estates, local authorities, surgeries & Health Centres, universities and schools. Currently I am working in partnership with them searching for an energetic and committed Contracts Manager to join their dedicated service delivery team. The Contract Manager will organise and oversee the services we provide to our clients and ensure that these services are provided in a timely and efficient manner, which will include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Organise staff under your control including any sub-contractors
  • Recruitment, training & mentoring of staff
  • Budgeting/planning ensuring economical/efficient use of company resources throughout all activities
  • Allocating work schedules with due consideration for staff skills, training, qualifications, and experience
  • Maintain H&S Standards on sites and carry out safety audits on sites, machinery, equipment etc.
  • Follow quality procedures and highlight opportunities for improvement
  • Comply with environmental legislation/ regulations
  • Carrying out recorded Site Inspections and ensuring resident satisfaction
  • Ensuring internal and client KPI’s are met and exceeded
  • Liaising with the development departments within our client’s organisation to provide input into design and assisting with the timely delivery of grounds maintenance services
  • Attending Client Performance Meetings and meeting clients & residents on-site
  • Dealing with compliments, complaints and performance improvement
  • Providing monthly reports to senior management and ensuring weekly planners are completed
  • Carrying out 4 and 8-weekly reviews, probationary appraisals and training with all new staff members as required and ensuring that HR receives all related documentation
  • Training & inducting new staff on their routes
  • Checking timesheets and submitting timesheet / pay information in a timely manner.
  • Working closely with the HR team on all personnel issues including, recruitment, performance management, any variations to contracts, development and disciplinary procedures etc.

The successful Contracts Manager will have: 

  • A proactive individual with an excellent client facing manner with a strong customer focus
  • Experience in a similar role for more than 5 years
  • Well-versed in all grounds maintenance methodologies and procedures
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • Self-motivation with the ability to use own initiative
  • Excellent communication, administration, time management, organisational and IT skills
  • Able to coordinate a team of operatives of different disciplines to achieve the best results
  • Candidates for this role must be able to demonstrate previous contract management experience within the FM Grounds Maintenance sector
  • Reside within circa 30 minutes of King's Lynn
  • Team Player – with an Ability to create/maintain positive relationships with colleagues and customers
  • Able to be flexible with working hours, including occasional early evening or weekend meetings

Working hours are usually 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.  A fully expensed company vehicle with fuel card, a laptop and phone are provided.

Salary ranging between £32k-£36k dependant on experience, bonus, pension scheme, 28 days holiday (inc. Bank Holidays)
