About Us:
Our client are a tier 1 main contractor with a strong portfolio of large-scale projects across the UK and in particualr Cambridge.  We are currently seeking a Senior Site Manager to aid in the delivery of our client's latest large new build scheme in Cambridge.

The Role:
As the Senior Site Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing all aspects of the construction process for this significant project. You will be responsible for managing the site team, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining project schedules, and delivering the project on time and within budget. This is a new build life sciences scheme in Cambridge, experience on life sciences schemes is not essential however experience on commercial/education/leisure schemes is required. (Purely residential profiles will not be suitable). 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all on-site operations, ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of the construction process, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are maintained on-site and promote a culture of safety.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, and consultants to facilitate effective communication and project alignment.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Mentor and develop junior site staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a r Senior Site Manager, on large new build projects (commercial, retail, education, leisure).
  • Tier 1 backgrounds are preffered but not essential 
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, schedules, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage budgets and timelines effectively.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., SMSTS, First Aid, CSCS).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
