Production Planner (SAP)

Scope of the position:

The Production Planner will be responsible for the following:

  • Planning and scheduling all manufactured parts through SAP, to fulfil machine assembly, aftermarket, spares and subcontract requirements to satisfy the needs of the business
  • Provide critical planning and scheduling support to the frontline Production team

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Generating Production plans using SAP/EXCEL on a rolling weekly cycle
  • Maximise productive hours through effective planning and daily performance measurements of the Production team
  • Finite capacity planning by machine in collaboration with the Machine Shop Manager
  • Coordinate multiple actions to Production order variances to maintain cost control
  • Provide up to date completion dates to key stakeholders for all orders
  • Coordinate overcapacity (bottlenecks) through rephasing requirements in conjunction with all stakeholders
  • Organise Production orders and manage the system exception messages to prioritise and monitor orders from creation to completion
  • Interpret resource/manning plans to use as an input into the Production schedule
  • Collaborate and communicate frequently with key stakeholders and Project Managers
  • Interrogating material masters, engineering change process, routing, production planning tools and stores transactions
  • Issuing and kitting of Production orders to Manufacturing
  • Booking raw materials and assigning to orders
  • Working safely and in line with Group Directives and Guidelines, including Environmental, Health & Safety requirements and any legal responsibilities

Key skills requirements:

  • Evidence of being a capable problem solver
  • Shows accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated SAP experience
  • Manufacturing/process manufacturing/engineering knowledge
  • Understanding of precision machining is desirable
  • High levels of effective collaboration and communication skills with key operational managers, stakeholders and Project Managers
  • Sound understanding of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Permission to work in the UK
