Civil Engineering Consultant

PM Group requires a site-based Civil Engineering Consultant in Newcastle upon Tyne to oversee a pharmaceutical project.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as a representative for the client in all construction activities on site, New Warehouse, New Packing Hall, New Access Roads & Carparks.
  • Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies.
  • Review of detailed designs, plans, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Analysing project budgets, timelines, and resource plans.
  • Ensure work is performed according to design specifications and safety standards.
  • Inspect project sites regularly to monitor progress and compliance.
  • Provide technical advice and solutions to on-site issues if required.
  • Ensure that any changes to projects are implemented correctly.
  • Troubleshoot design and construction problems.
  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Review of necessary documentation and permits.
  • Participate in risk assessments and implement health and safety measures.
  • Advise on project budgets and resources efficiently with client Project Controls Lead.
  • Review of progress reports and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with client, stakeholders, and team members

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; a master's degree can be beneficial.  Professional Engineer (PE) license is required and knowledge of NEC 4 contract is essential.
  • Relevant experience in civil engineering, typically ranging from 2-5 years for entry-level positions and more for senior roles.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, project management tools, and engineering principles.
  • Strong analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and teamwork capabilities.
  • Understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.

Off-Payroll Working Rules: This role is believed to be inside IR35.
