Due to continued expansion globally we are searching for a Database Administrator Engineer to join their already established tech team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SQL, database normalization, and managing Postgres databases. This role requires a proactive individual who can optimize database performance and ensure the reliability and scalability of our database infrastructure.

Tech Stack
The tech stack used includes NestJS, Typescript, React, Node, Python and Angular, DynamoDB, Postgres, Redis, Cloudflare and Docker and experience across these is obviously advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Management and Optimization:

• Manage and optimize our Postgres database infrastructure to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Conduct regular performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing to enhance database performance.

Database Design and Migration:

• Design and implement database normalization processes to maintain data integrity and reduce redundancy.
• Plan and execute database migrations with minimal downtime and data loss

SQL Expertise:

• Write and optimize complex SQL queries to support various business needs and ensure efficient data retrieval.

• Analyze and resolve SQL performance issues to enhance the overall efficiency of the database.

Cloud Database Management:

• Manage and maintain cloud database instances such as AWS RDS (Relational Database Service).
• Implement best practices for backup, restore, and disaster recovery using cloud tools and services.

Monitoring and Instrumentation:

• Implement robust monitoring and instrumentation solutions to gain insights into database performance and identify potential issues.

• Set up alerts and reporting mechanisms to proactively address performance bottlenecks and ensure database health.
