My client is in an early-stage business requiring a significant level of commitment and flexibility from staff. Due to the global nature of the  customer base, there may be requirements to travel to locations outside of the UK for periods of time. Role Profile

The day-to-day planning and project control of system builds and system installations at customer sites in the UK and/or abroad. This involves liaising with our clients to agree the system specification and project scope, whilst liaising with the company’s internal functions including Engineering & Purchasing along with third-party contractors representing both the company and the client. You will be the single point contact for a given project and the Key data holder for timing and latest actions / issues.

You will be proactive, experienced, committed and driven, with the capability and ambition to enable and benefit from the company’s opportunity to scale. Cleaning and hygiene in food factories usually takes place on evening shifts, hence there is the potential to work unsociable hours occasionally or travel overseas to support projects.  We expect the successful applicant to join and enhance the open culture where everyone is encouraged to partner in their colleague’s success and have a desire for continued learning whilst focusing on delivering results.

Key Requirements for the role include:

  • To lead, manage and coordinate projects effectively with day-to-day use of MS Project and other planning tools
  • Running of regular Project meetings, escalating issues to the Senior team when required
  • Communicate effectively and provide regular, accurate daily progress reports.
  • Ensure compliance with the current processes and templates.
  • Mitigate risks through detailed planning and applying processes consistently.
  • Ensure continuous learning feedback is effective, and that performance continually improves.
  • Experience in the deployment of capital equipment preferably within a manufacturing environment (£250,000-£500,000 projects).
  • Liaise with Finance to prepare and validate budgets and maintain accurate cost reports and cost-to-complete forecasts.
  • High intellectual curiosity combined with the desire to seek knowledge when required.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP).
  • Conversant and experienced in the use of Microsoft Project to prepare and monitor detailed plans and Gantt charts, resource levelling (Critical for the role).
  • 5+ years of project management experience ensuring completion on time, within budget, to agreed scope and meeting customer expectations.
  • Organised - able to manage time and effectively prioritise tasks.
  • Consistently set high standards of behaviour and a strong work ethic.
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated; able to work under pressure.
  • Flexible regarding working hours.
  • Experience preparing project budgets and scopes.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety best practices.

Desirable

  • Experience working within the food industry.
  • Six sigma certified (green or black belt)
  • NEBOSH or equivalent H&S trained.
  • CDM experience
