Our prestigious retail client based in Cambridge is looking for a talented Infrastructure Engineer to join the team to support and develop the IT infrastructure within the group, specifically the storage, networks (LAN & WAN), central servers, backups, and security.

We are ideally looking for candidates with experience working in the Retail or E-Commerce industry.

Key Skills:

• CompTIA Network+ and Microsoft AZ-800 and AZ-801 certifications.
• Have proven experience in a similar role managing: DNS, DHCP, GPO.
• Experience of implementing and managing large SAN environments.
• Extensive knowledge of enterprise ethernet, VLANs, routing, switching and IP addressing.
• Be technically competent with good all-round knowledge of the following systems:
  • Acronis & Veeam backup solutions
  • Cisco Meraki
  • Microsoft: Windows Server 2022, Entra, Hybrid Azure AD, Intune, SCCM, and M365
  • Watchguard firewalls
  • HP Alletra storage
  • Mitel VoIP phone systems
  • SD-WANs
  • VMware vSphere
• Provide excellent hardware and application support to business customers.
• Possess strong analytical / problem-solving skills and have good attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, devise, and implement new infrastructure designs to continuously improve performance, availability, and security.
• Provision hardware and firmware upgrades to infrastructure.
• Lead and support infrastructure projects as necessary.
• Produce high standard of documentation, such as design, operation, and troubleshooting of technology platforms and procedures and contributing to the knowledge base for the Service Desk.
• Solving technical problems related to the IT infrastructure across all physical sites including site visits as necessary.
• Identify and report overloading, capacity issues or any potential threats to service levels.
• Monitor and respond to security alerts and faults.
