Our Engineering and Manufacturing client based in Fareham are recruiting for a new member of staff to join their ever-growing company in the role of a Machine Operator. This is an excellent opportunity to join a company who offer great training, development and career progression.  

Job Description

This position will be in the sheet metal department of the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for making cases using the companies sheet material, you will be using CNC equipment to make the products, along with the use of engineering drawings to ensure that the product meets the requirements at the final stage of inspection.  

Duties: 

• Be able to work Independently and in a team. 

• Operate machine to Machining quantities of precision items in both Mild steel and stainless steel 

• Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive steps maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. 

• Complete in-house paperwork,  

• Quality checks, before moving on the next stage, 

• Communicating with management regarding faults/issues or quality concerns,  

• Measuring raw materials and feeding them into machines. 

Skills and experience

• The ideal candidate should have experience of working in a machine shop, 

• The role requires excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines, 

• Hands tools experience, 

• IT literate,  

• Able to read and interpret measuring devices,  

• Ability to use IT systems to operate machines. 

• Experience within a manufacturing Environment 

• Any Machining/operating experience.

• Monday to Friday, 0800-1600, 

• £12.20 per hour,  

• Overtime rate applicable,
